On 18th May will take place "Night of the Museums", an initiative promoted by the Region of Tuscany in the country of exploitation "Dude Museum."
On this occasion the Civic Museum, the Mangia's Tower and the complex of Santa Maria della Scala will perform a nightly extraordinary opening with free admission from 9.00 pm to 11.30 pm.
There are two guided tours of the Museum, by appointment, one at 9.15 pm and one at 10.15, (by calling from Monday to Friday at n. 0577/292226 from 9.00 to 12.30.

The Cathedral of Siena never ceases to amaze. Following the unveiling of the floor, which acquainted numerous Italian and foreign visitors with the intarsias designed by the ancient masters to depict a route of wisdom and of faith, the Cathedral now opens its door at the very peak of the building. As of 6 April, following lengthy restoration, visitors will be able to admire the ‘heavens’ of the Cathedral. A series of rooms that have never been open to the public, where no one has entered for centuries, except for the workmen directed by a succession of great architects who over the centuries left evidence in projects and sketches, at times drawn directly on the walls.
Strongly desired by the Opera della Metropolitana di Siena, the initiative is organised by Opera – Civita Group.
Opera Civita Group manages the booking, information and guided tours services for the Cathedral of Siena complex and, for the extraordinary opening of the ‘Gate of Heaven’, proposes cultural packages that enrich the city’s touristic offer.
